Cosmos Deaconess Motherhouse: History and Memorial of a Protestant Movement of Women (Volume 1)
Ute Gause, Cordula Lissner (Ed.)
Deaconesses and diaconal sisters belong to a group of women that were during the 20th century naturally present in the public sphere with their unique traditional costume – a white bonnet and a long dark dress. These studies document and analyze their life-memories that were inquired in an Oral-History-Project.
Out of this project the almost forgotten protestant women´s profession (of a deaconess) has come to light again, an interesting read not just for scholars.
