Prof. Dr. Isolde Karle has been Professor of Practical Theology (with a focus on Homiletics, Liturgics and Poimenics) at Ruhr University Bochum since 2001. She was awarded her PhD degree in Kiel in 1995 and completed her habilitation in Bonn in 2000. Isolde Karle holds the directorial position at the Institute for Religion and Society, founded in 2015, and the office of university preacher. In addition, she is a member of various research societies, is involved in a number of conferences and consortiums of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD), and has been the Vice-Rector for Diversity, Inclusion and Talent Development of Ruhr University Bochum since November 2021.
